COMMENTS ABOUT EQUIPMENT: |
We've owned the machine for going on three years and have done very little maintenance to the machine in the time we've had it. It does a great job in separating the plastic, ferrous metal, and rocks from our composted material I would say it's about 95% efficient, it's handled pretty much everything we put through it. We've even used it on some C&D material and it did a good job on taking the plastic out of that also. |

Landfill, handling 100 tons per day of MSW along with construction - and demolition of waste and recyclables. Overall taking in 200 tons per day |

|
COMMENTS ABOUT EQUIPMENT: |
The TERMINATOR 5000 Shreds C&D like a bandit. We do not run it at full capacity because 50% to 75% is adequate for handling our waste flow. The county chose this particular model because of its highly metal tolerance. It's a simple machine; it took the machine operator less than a week to become familiar with the machine. |

FACILITY DESCRIPTION: |
VPPSA Composting Facility
VPPSA operates a 22 acre composting facility in York County Virginia. We receive leaves, grass and brush from multiple communities and process the material into several usable products. We have operated this facility for over ten years and have learned through trial and error with equipment. |
|
|
COMMENTS ABOUT EQUIPMENT: |
VPPSA purchased its first Komptech Farwick product in February of 2002 and the second one, the MAXX, in September of 2003. We have been impressed with the construction and ease of maintenance. They have put a great deal of thought into the manufacturing of the equipment. With routine maintenance they will practically run themselves.
VPPSA has two grinders, two large loaders, two smaller loaders, a windrow turner and two trommel screens. Anyone that operates equipment on a regular basis understands the importance of a well built piece of equipment; we have that with the Komptech Farwick products.
I would be remiss if I failed to mention the people! From sales to service they understand the meaning of customer service. |
